DONNALLY ARCHITECTS

MADRONA HOUSE II | SEATTLE, WA

This beautifully detailed 1904 Craftsman home had an enormous storage attic that we modified and converted into a full master suite.  While keeping the original gabled roof profile front and back, we added new shed dormers in the middle of the roof to create additional floor space.  The details and materials all respect the original design style, and include a new custom flower and leaf motif cut into railing panels used both inside and out.  The suite includes a separate TV sitting area, built-in writing desk with leather top facing Mt Rainier, a full walk-in closet, a generous master bathroom, and a bedroom with a wide balcony and custom king size bed frame; all visually interconnected yet spatially distinct.

The project also included upgrades and renovations to many other spaces and finishes throughout the house to bring it up to the functional and energy conservation needs of today.
